ONE RACE

Vivian became very interested in racism and how it played socially throughout the modern world. She wanted to articulate that the human race is "one." Whether someone is American, European, Asian, or African American and wherever the person may be, the way everybody embraces and shares love with one another ultimately make people "one." In this project, Vivian is painting a self portrait of someone she knows from a different geographical background. By consisting of the same shape with different colors and patterns, it makes each painting a unique, individual person. In unity, it creates the notion of one race.

The artist has created over 50 of one race and still continues to work on them.
