ABOUT

Eun Vivian Lee is a contemporary artist, who began painting as a way to interpret her inner emotions into pieces of art. Her current work––painting hundreds of dots on paper––evokes a language of serenity and pastoral imagery. She hopes others can also appreciate the meditativeness of her work.

A pencil-marked grid is the foundation for her work, though the shape has evolved from squares to circular pieces. Furthermore, having once used nail polish as a medium to exude a spectrum of hues, Eun found the quality limiting. Hence, she now utilizes pigment paints by mixing pigments into her own paints. They are made from seashells, giving the paint a unique texture and sheen.

From afar, each of the carefully crafted dots appear like uniformed pixels; however, when viewed closely, they are distinct circles with various sizes and shades.
